Economic development is about more than attracting new businesses: it's about building a strong, sustainable foundation for long-term growth. One of the most powerful ways we can do that is by investing in our future workforce, right here at home.

This is why we were proud to partner with Beaumont High School to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.

Students from Mr. Bonilla’s digital media class had the opportunity to collaborate directly with the City’s Economic Development and Public Information teams. Their challenge: create professional billboard designs to promote the City’s Business Incentives Program, which is aimed at attracting new businesses, revitalizing downtown storefronts, and supporting local job creation.

The results demonstrated the vast potential of experiential learning. During the May 14 Economic Development Committee meeting, students presented their final billboard concepts, each one vibrant, unique, and thoughtfully crafted to convey the benefits of doing business in Beaumont. These student-designed billboards will soon appear along the I-10 in Yucaipa, showcasing not only our city's incentives but also the creativity and talent of our local youth.

This project is part of a growing effort to align education with economic development in Beaumont. By engaging students in meaningful civic projects, we're helping them build valuable skills, explore career pathways, and understand how their work can make a real impact in their community.

We’re excited to continue partnering with Beaumont Unified School District as we strengthen tomorrow’s workforce. For questions about bringing your business to Beaumont - whether you are interested in business incentives or connecting with the City's skilled workforce - contact our team.
